Welcome to Round Seven! This round is all about pictures and quotes/lyrics!

You can enter up to two fictions.

1. It's pretty straight-forward and simple. Select an image from below and write something about it - and also throw in a quote to spice things up. Or use a lyric for some inspiration, too.

Q: Does it need to feature the image's subject?
A: No, it doesn't. Images are there for inspiration. Though it doesn't hurt to use the image as a prominent guide (or plot device) throughout your fic so it actually answers the round's requirements.

Q: If I choose the balloon image, can I write about something it symbolises to my chosen character?
A: That's the whole point to pictures. This round - or any round featuring this type of stimuli - is designed for your interpretation. We want entries of what you see the picture to represent for your chosen character(s). We don't want you to tell us the basics. So, when you think about it, this is a pretty free challenge as to where the boundaries lay. Write about you want, but keep it reasonable and make sure you're answering the challenge and make yourself more open to being acceptable for awards.

Q: So what happens if I don't write about the image?
Then you're not answering the round. You must feature the image somewhere in your entry. You don't need to say "and she looked up at the balloon". As stated above, we want what you see. We don't want three fics submitted saying the same thing. You don't even need to tell us what's in the image. Show, don't tell. It can be like air; it's inbetween the lines, etc. but make sure you use an image and it's not as though you've closed your eyes, pointed at the screen and chosen by chance. We want to be able to draw links from your piece to the image.

Q: Do I have to include a quote?
It's better if you do. It'd be smarter to link the quote and the image together. And we'd like to see some creative entries where two things work - or contrast - together.

Q: How many quotes can I use?
As many as you like, but please don't overkill.

The requirements are that you put please don't get me rescued in the subject of your comment saying you're signing up for this round.

Same rules apply:
• No RPF.
• No smut. (But soft R is allowed.)
• No copying.
• All entries must have been written specifically for this challenge.
As always, any problems, don't hesitate to comment below.

2. The images for this round are below. Please don't hotlink. If there are any issues, please feel free to comment below.

3. Quotes and lyrics are listed below.

• I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art.
• I never said I was a good girl.
• People often say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder ... I say the most liberating thing about beauty is realising that you are the beholder.
• Behind every successful woman is a substantial amount of coffee.
• Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away.
• Time stands still best in moments that look suspiciously like ordinary life.
• I have always felt that the moment when first you wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours.
• We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.
• What if everything is an illusion and nothing exists? In that case, I definitely overpaid for my carpet.
• A great secret of success is to go through life as a man who never gets used up.
• To be stupid, selfish, and have good health are three requirements for happiness, though if stupidity is lacking, all is lost.
• Oregano is the spice of life.
• Careful. We don't want to learn from this.
• Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.
• The only way most people recognize their limits is by trespassing on them.
• A happy childhood is poor preparation for human contacts.
• The world is round; it has no point.
• Nobody, as long as he moves about among the chaotic currents of life, is without trouble.
• A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject.
• The trouble with facts is that there are so many of them.
• Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air…
• Never be afraid to laugh at yourself, after all, you could be missing out on the joke of the century.
• Silence is golden when you can't think of a good answer.
• The more you know, the less you need.
• Life is nothing but a competition to be the criminal rather than the victim.
• A doctor saves lives -- It's up to people to create lives that are worth saving.
• More often than not, a hero’s most epic battle is the one you never see; it’s the battle that goes on within him or herself.

We've made it that you can choose your own lyrics. Please specify in your notes which lyric from which song you've used as inspiration for your entry.

4. Request a new fandom for the next round now. Or ask for one to be taken off. If you want to write in a fandom not listed, please comment below and we'll have a little chat. We don't want fandoms that no one writes on the list when we can have a more popular one.

5. We'd appreciate it if every member could support their peers and leave each other feedback where their fiction is placed. It's not really that difficult, as when it's time for voting you've got to read their work anyway. Besides, it's encouraging and supportive and hopefully it'll start a little habit. Everyone likes to be appreciated for something. This will be encouraged every round. It'd be good to see some member interaction! :)

6. You sign up, you vote. It’s only common courtesy if someone votes for you that you take the time to vote for your fellow peers and leave constructive and helpful feedback. If you do not, see what happens when you submit RPF or smut: disqualification. Your fic will be taken out of the round this year.

7. TAG ALL ENTRIES. - fanfiction, round seven, author: username.

If you're new, don't worry about the personal tag. I'll be checking tags and adding ones for new participants - but please be sure that the next time you enter the competition that you tag with your personal i.d.

EVERY ENTRY SUBJECTS MUST LOOK LIKE THIS: R – TITLE. Make sure you change “TITLE” to your work. I plan on catching up on all the memming of the work. It makes it easier for me — and making things easier for me makes me a happy camper.

Make sure you specify which prompt you chose. This means both the image and quote in your posting template.

8. If you have any problems with this, please feel free to contact me. (Most likely, reply below.)

Sign Up Information: Same as last time. You sign up, we know you’re in for this round. If you need to get out, just say so and we’ll forget that you ever signed up in the first place.

There will be no links attached to the challenge posts. It’s your job to look out for relevant posts. All of the ones I’ve made in the past have gone unanswered, so I have been given the impression that I only link them for nothing.

Be sure to know that if you need an extension, there is a post out there for you. See the tags for it. Or, better yet, just say the word here. We don't mind giving out extensions for whatever reason. :)

Other Details: For your information, just so you know when your fic. is most likely expected, the (approximate) dates are below.

+ Fics are due the 26th September. *
+ Sign ups will end on 19th September.
+ Voting will take place on 27th September.*
+ Winners will be announced the 4th October.*

(* - Check if this changes.)

That's two weeks for entries. Any problems, please comment! As stated above, we're always happy for extensions. Also, if you want to enter more than two fics, you're always welcome to!

GOOD LUCK, and have fun! =) Questions for this particular challenge can be posted here. :) Please make sure you tell your friends about us! ♥

Also, would you guys like a new layout?

Re: please don't get me rescued

Actually, I'd better not try to do this. I just lost my job and I'm scrambling to find a new one. I will try to join next round though because this looks like so much fun. :(
